Culminating Assignment

I chose to make my logo look the way it does because first of all, I like explosions, most other people like explosions, and, more importantly, it sends the message that the coffee you get at my coffee shop is explosively delicious. The flavour is so intense that it can spontaneously combust. Coffee generally is brown or brownish, so that explains the color of the explosion in my color logo. I chose to use that font for the letters because to me that font looks sort of whacky and fun, and it makes my coffee shop look as though we don't take ourselves too seriously. And I don't, really. All I want is for the customers who come in to have a good time, feel welcome, and of course, be satisfied with the service. My business welcomes all. As for the color of the letters, I really only chose red because it stood out against the colors of the exploding coffee.

SNP Video

The intended message for our video was to encourage the youths in the area to join the Student Nutrition Program, and to remove the stigma attached to the hunger situation.

We used a video, as you can see. Inside the video, we have Alex's character and Ms.Walker (from the Guidance Office) and they are explaining the program to the viewer.

This was the most stressful assignment i have ever had the displeasure of completing. Mainly because me and my fellow group members had thrown in a truck load of detailed ideas that were very good and well thought out, only to not be able to agree upon one until a week before the entire project was due. And the end result of our video- in my opinion -was mediocre. At least in comparison with the crazy, funny and jaw-dropping video ideas we had brainstormed together. We actually had an idea where terrorists come to the school during lunch period (I know it sounds crazy, but hear me out on this) and they just make a mess of everything. But then there is a student who for some reason is calmly eating his lunch while it is all going down. Then a message displays that would say something along the lines of: "What's stopping you from getting a SNP ticket?" What we finished with just doesn't seem to be on the same level as that idea, and there were many more which were just as good too. Anyway, in conclusion: I was not all that proud of the final product because I believe our video's high potential was definitely not reached.

I came up with the idea for this because, at one point I had an Afro, and a lot of people liked it. They constantly ask me to regrow it. Instead I think making this picture will be satisfactory to both them and myself because I don't plan to grow an afro for a while, and this way they will always have the chance to see a fro. One that is even bigger than mine was. I used the name "Bogz" (pronounced: Bohgs) repeatedly in this picture because it is the shortened form of my last name.

Vector Lavalamp

For these drawings I have chosen to draw a lavalamp. I chose it because I think lavalamps look cool, and because no matter what you do, if you're drawing a lavalamp it's gonna' look good to most people. No matter how bad you are at drawing in Adobe Illustrator CS. I'm new to that program, so that's the big reason I wanted a foolproof object such as the lavalamp. I plan to draw something much more difficult in the future if given the chance, but for now i'm just trying to ease into the Illustrator and learn about the functions of it. Anyway, here are my pictures. I personally like the colourless one with the black goo.
